Rules and Regulations

CEMETERY HOURS:
DAWN TO DUSK  

To help maintain the beauty, safety, and dignity of the cemetery for all families, we ask that the following rules be observed:

  • Planting: Planting by private individuals is not permitted anywhere in the cemetery.

  • Funeral Flowers: Funeral flowers may remain at the gravesite for five (5) business days following the service. After that time, cemetery personnel will remove them.

  • Containers and Ground Items: Glass containers, wires, sticks, pegs, metal rods, or any objects driven into the ground are not allowed.

  • Artificial Decorations: Artificial flowers and decorations are not permitted from April 1 through November 1.

  • Loose Decorations: Items such as windmills, balloons, toys, and similar decorations may be removed and discarded on mowing days.

  • Placement of Decorations: All flowers or decorations must be placed on the headstone. The only exceptions are during the first week following a burial and Memorial Day weekend.

  • Plants and Monuments: No shrubs, trees, flowers, grass, decorative stones, monuments, or markers may be planted or placed on any grave without prior written approval from the cemetery.

  • Conduct: Pets, skateboarding, rollerblading, golf, or any other inappropriate recreational activities are not permitted in the cemetery.

Headstone Requirements

Marker and Border Specifications

Concrete Borders: All concrete borders must be a minimum of 6 inches wide and 6 inches deep.

Marker Placement: All markers must be installed flush with the ground.

Marker Orientation: All markers must be placed in the traditional position, facing west.

Vase Holes: Concrete borders must not include vase holes.

Headstone Installation: On-site pouring or casting of headstones is not permitted.

Single Marker Size: Maximum size is 36 inches wide by 42 inches long (including border).

Double Marker Size: Maximum size is 56 inches wide by 42 inches long (including border).

Garden Crypt Marker Size: Maximum size is 32 inches wide by 42 inches long (including border).

Babyland Marker Size: Maximum size is 28 inches wide by 24 inches long (including border).

Material: All markers must be made of metal or stone.

Number of Markers: Only one marker is allowed per grave space.

Marker Installation

The installation of headstones or markers is done at the purchaser’s own risk and must be completed under the direction of the Cemetery Sexton and in accordance with all cemetery specifications.

Timpanogos Memorial Gardens shall not be held responsible for any damage to a headstone or marker that does not meet cemetery specifications.

The cemetery assumes no obligation to repair or replace markers that are damaged due to:

- Failure to follow cemetery specifications

- Improper installation

- Deteriorated or aging concrete borders

- Damage caused by third parties
